چکیده
Plants of the Daucus genus (Apiaceae) are used worldwide as traditional medicines or culinary ingredients. In this work, in order to explore a new chemotype, essential oil obtained from aerial parts reboudii Coss., collected National Park Gouraya (Bejaïa, Algeria), was analyzed by GC-MS. Twenty-eight compounds were identified, accounting for 96.6% total oil. (E)-anethol main constituent (59.4%), followed estragol (21.2%) and dodecanal (4.4%). is an uncommon genus, hence it could be considered marker that contributes differentiating D. other species. Metal chelating, ABTS•+ DPPH• assays performed determine antioxidant activity. The highest activity revealed method, where showed significantly higher compared reference standard BHT at doses 50 100 µg/mL. Results suggest have potential use food industry preservative. Nevertheless, further studies needed assess its applicability, elucidate also composition non-volatile plant.
